Genetic Testing
We offer an at home genetic testing to help us determine the best medication choices for you. If you have tried and failed more than one oral antidepressant, antipsychotic or other medication and have wondered if you might have a genetic difference in how you metabolize medications, genetic testing is an option for you. We use a simple cotton swab in the mouth, that is sent in for testing. Results come back in about a week and can tell us if you have any differences in your genetic makeup of the enzymes that metabolize most medications.
It will also test for the MTHFR genetic mutations which can cause changes in how we process L-Methylfolate. Since L-Methylfolate is the building block for neurotransmitters responsible for Serotonin, Norepinephrine and Dopamine, MTHFR genetic changes can increase risks of depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD and Schizophrenia.

Dr. Frances's meticulous approach to treat and manage my conditions are thoughtful and remediating. She screened through my diagnoses/medications from a previous provider and cultivated a safe space to educate me on which medications could be weaned off as it may not serve beneficially long-term.
